This is because facial oil locks in the moisture that is underneath it. If you apply moisturiser on top then you are essentially locking the goodness out!
Facial oil can be good for acne prone skin and some facial oil ingredients can even help spot-prone skin to regulate the volume of acne bacteria attracting sebum that it produces.

Those with normal, oily or combination skin may prefer to only use facial oil at times when their skin is more prone to dryness, such as during particularly cold weather months.
